         news desk

Oslo, April 23, 2010 -- Norwegian Iranian’s SV-politician Amir Payan accused for fraud attempts  but he said, he is innocent in the case.

He is accused for submitting the false tax documents to save Kr.20,000 in official loan’s interest rates.

Amir Payan is SV-politician and city council member in Bergen and he is accused for involvement in fraud attempts in the State Educational Loan Fund and for forgery in the connection.

He allegedly tried to escape interest income of around 20,000 Kronners by reporting less income than was true, according Bergens Tidende, the local newspaper.

Payan, who was elected to the Bergen City Council in 2007, is surprised by the indictment. He insists he is innocent. It should he prove when the case comes to trial in September this year.

According to Payan, he is not but it was his family member who submitted the false tax documentation - and admitted this to the police.

Before Christmas last year, he lost his position as board member of Bergen SV after much experience when he compared the immigration policy of "their" government with the Nazi persecution of refugees.

Amir Payan had made headlines in local and national media when he compared the government's return of asylum seekers to Iraq with the deportation policies of Nazi Germany before and during the war. But later on, Payan apologized for the statement
