Oslo, Feb 11, 2010 – Visiting Former AJK Prime Barrister
Sultan urged Norway to play role on Kashmir by insisting as
road to peace in Afghanistan goes through Kashmir.
Former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir (Pakistan
Administered Kashmir), Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudrhy
said, road to peace in Afghanistan goes through Kashmir.
Norwegian Newspaper, VG reported, the former prime
minister of AJK said, that Norway will contribute for
reconciliation and unity between India and Pakistan on the
disputed region.
Pakistan can not concentrate on fighting insurgents along
the border with Afghanistan and within the country because
of the threat in the east, "said Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry
while talking to the newspaper. He says the situation is now
alarming and points to statements from India's army chief to
attack Pakistan first.

- An attack from either party would mean war with the use of
nuclear weapons, fear him.
India and Pakistan have fought on the territory three times
since independence in 1947.
Chaudhry was prime minister of AJK, a part of the
long-disputed region between India and Pakistan from 1996 to
2001. He was in Oslo this week to urge Norway to help
facilitate peace talks between the two old enemies India and
Pakistan.
- The international community seems to forget about Kashmir
in the midst of everything that happens in Afghanistan and
Pakistan. So I am in Europe to focus on the situation in the
region are linked, and that there will be peace in
Afghanistan until it's been a solution to the conflict over
Kashmir. The road to peace in Afghanistan goes through

- If not laid down their arms in the region, including
Kashmir, we will not get peace, "he said.
The former prime minister has been invited to Norway by
an Kashmiri Organisation based in Oslo namely Kashmir
European Alliance, has been meeting with Norwegian Foreign
Ministry’s Officials and Norwegian Conservative Party
leader, Ms. Erna Solberg at the Norwegian Parliament. During
the meeting he stressed that Norway would look great as a
facilitator for peace talks on Kashmir.
Chief Coordinator Kashmir European Alliance, Chaudhry Mukhtar Ahmad, President
Mr.Pervez Mahmood and member Abdul Jabbar and Norwegain
Pakikstani Politician, Aamir Sheikh and Pakistani
intellectual, M.Anwar Sofi were also present
on the occasion.
Norway is a peaceful country that is relatively independent,
and is also a friend of the India and Pakistan. Together
with the EU and Norway to appoint a special envoy to
Kashmir, "said Chaudry to Erna Solberg and using the same
time the opportunity to invite her to Kashmir to see the
situation himself.
Chaudry highlights including the human rights situation as
problematic.

Sultan Mahmood Chaudrhy also met MP, Peter Gitmark at the
Norwegian Parliament. The former PM earlier this week
attended a public gathering in Oslo.
According to a press release issued by Kashmir European
alliance (KEA)
this week, a large number of people from Pakistani and
Kashmiri origin gathered in Oslo to observe solidarity day
on 7th February.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood Choudry was the chief guest at the
occasion and Ambassador of Pakistan Mr Rabnawaz Khan was the
chief host of the gathering.
Among other distinguished guests who were present included
Deputy speaker Norwegian Parliament Akhtar Choudry, Former
members Norwegian Parliament Shabaz Tariq and Ch.Khalid
Mahmood, President Islamabad Rawalpindi Welfare Society, Mr.
Riaz Ahmad and General Secretary, Mr.Nasir Awan, Moulana
Mahboob-ur-Rehman of Islamic Cultural Centre, Chaudry Zahid
Aslam, Chairman Kashmir European Alliance Sardar Shabir
Khan, Vice Chairman Kashmir European Alliance Choudry Yousaf,
President Kashmir European Alliance Sardar Pervez Mehmood,
Chief Advisor Kashmir European Alliance Sardar Amir Khan and
Chief Coordinator Kashmir European Alliance Choudry Mukhtar
Ahamed.
President Kashmir European Alliance briefed the gathering
about Human rights violations in held Kashmir and introduced
their new organization , Kashmir European Alliance.
He told that main focus of Kashmir European Alliance is to
evolve strategies to discourage the tendency of self
projection, and promote healthy attitude in the public for
the projection of sacred cause. Establishing a professional
approach rather than emotional to tell that the issue is
important for UN and EU like Palestine issue. Trying to
Convince the younger generation about a political heritage,
an era of struggle for freedom costing hundred of thousands
lives for past 60 years and a strategy to protect our youth
from cultural invasion, a media onslaught, a brain wash, a
negation of creation of Pakistan and Kashmir freedom
struggle.
Sardar Pervez told that KEA will pursue European Union,
financial institutions and corporations to press for changes
in policy and practice that promote human rights and justice
around the world and especially in Jammu & Kashmir. KEA
will advocate
for change at the highest levels of national and
international policymaking. KEA will raise awareness and
understanding through the media. KEA will build coalitions
among those with divergent views and will mobilize people.
KEA will try to tell the
United Nations and European Union that an action by a
dozen of civilians going outlawed, committing murder and
disruption is termed as terrorism. An action by one million
army being violating United Nations rules and norms should
be declared as
