Oslo, Feb 13,
2010 –A large number of Muslims from different walks of life
staged a peaceful demonstration in Oslo, the capital of
Norway on Friday to express their protest against appearance
of controversial caricatures of Prophet of Islam in the
Norwegian media.
The protest
rally launched from the front of Norwegian parliament in the
capital and concluded at the central station of the city.
Holding placards
participants of the demonstration chanted slogans against
the appearance of the blasphemous cartoons of the Prophet (PBUH).
They also raised the voices as Lailaha Ellalha and Allaho
Akbar (there is not god exept Allah and Allah is great).
The rally was
organised by Muslim Youths, Transporter and labours from the
different Norwegian Muslim communities after the Friday
prayer. A number of woman and students were also present on
the occasion.
It is important
to mention here that two Norwegian newspapers namely
Aftenposten and Dagbladet have published the controversial
caricatures of Prophet of Islam in recent weeks.
Talking to the
media a woman participated in the demonstration said, we are
concern over the appearance of the caricature in the
Norwegian newspapers. We respect other religions and the
Norwegian media should respect our prophet.
No, one of the
noted Norwegian Pakistani political and religious leaders
base in Oslo was seemed in the occasion but a number of the
social figures of Norwegian Pakistan community were present
on the occasion. This was at the time when, Islamic Council
Norway advised the people to avoid to attend the
demonstration. A press released issue on web site of the

not recommend participation, even at legal demonstrations.
