Oslo, Feb 11, 2010 – Norwegian police
on Wednesday’s evening took action and prevented a
number of anti Iranian government demonstrators to enter in
the Iranian embassy area.
The demonstration took place last evening at the same
time when a dinner was hosted by the Iranian embassy in
Oslo on the occasion of 31st anniversary of Islamic
revolution. A group of the demonstrators intent to forcedly
enter to the embassy area but police prevented them. At
least one person was arrested when the anti Iranian
government demonstrators threw snow balls on the guests
invited at the dinner by Iranian Embassy.
The embassy had invited a number of the people from the
Norwegian Muslim society and others based in Oslo at the
evening of Wednesday.
The man arrested was among the dozens of the other those
were chanting slogans against the Iranian government and
were throwing the snowballs on the guest arriving at the
embassy for the dinner.
The demonstrators were also using abusive languages
against the guests and verbally attacking on them.
Police manages to restrain the demonstrators and prevent
them to come in the premises of the embassy.
Some of human rights NGO’s representatives were also
present on the occasion to express their solidarity with the
demonstrators.
Some of the embassy’s guests were clearly uneasy but they
appreciated the police to prevent the demonstrators.
The demonstrators were of the view that they launch the
protest what going against the opposition in
Iran.
