Iranian diplomat reportedly resigned in Oslo could not report to foreign ministry in Tehran

Oslo, Jan 09, 2010 -- The former Iranian diplomat Mohammad Reza Heydari, who is at large and hiding after completion of his mission in Oslo, could not report to Ministry of Foreign affairs in Tehran.

Though the Norwegain Media reported, he quits his jobs at the Iranian embassy in Oslo to protest against the Iranian regime's use of violence in recent demonstration in Iran but Iran’s Embassy in Oslo argues that he completed his assignment in the embassy and can report to the Ministery of Foreign Affairs while spending one month vacations.

The embassy did not confirm his resignation and hope he could be able to report in Tehran.

It was Norwegian TV NRK to broadcased the report about the resignation of the diplomat in Oslo.

- After I submitted my resignation, I was contacted by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, who recommended me to come home so we could talk about the case. It is something I consider to be very risky for me and my family, "says Heydari to NRK.

Heydari has been employed at the embassy for two years, and lives in Oslo with his wife and their two sons.

Meanwhile a number of supporters of Mojahedeene Khalq Organistion staged dmonestration on Saturday in front of Irainian Embassy in Oslo to support opposition in Iran. There was also demonstration last week in front of the embassy.
