Oslo, April 24,
2010 --
President of Kashmir European Alliance Engineer Pervez
Mehmood has expressed gratitude over recent visit of EU
delegation to Indian held Kashmir. This is the second visit
of EU in a row since November 2009.
After
hard press from different circles in Europe, EU has
initiated a genuine move to give an impetus to a status quo
scenario of potentially most dangerous conflict of the
globe. Engineer Pervez Mehmood has expressed great hope for
the successful visit of EU Delegation.
Chairman
Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Srinagar told the
delegation that third party intervention in the vexed
Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan has become
inevitable for its ultimate settlement. He also sought
foreign direct investment in the power sector to tap the
state’s huge hydropower potential.
The EU
delegation comprises of Minister Counsellor, Deputy Head of
Mission, Embassy of Finland New Delhi, Liisa Valjento;
Deputy Head of Mission, Minister Counsellor Norwegian
Embassy Aslak Brun, the Deputy Head of Mission Danish
Embassy, Danny Annan; Minister and Deputy Head of Mission
Embassy of Sweden.
Engineer Pervez
Mehmood said that it’s a well known Indian practice to play
tactics like making valley economically dependent by
undermining and delaying the energy sector vital projects
and by crippling the tourism industry of Kashmir valley.
Engineer Pervez
told said that stubborn attitude of India in Kashmir needs
to be analysed by focusing through socio-economic structure
of India. How is it possible for the biggest democracy of
the world to use billion of dollars to continue its military
occupation in one of the world’s most difficult and
mountainous terrain in Kashmir, when ten of millions of
Indians sleep in open air with no access to basic
necessities of life? How is possible for a democratic nation
to ignore its millions of citizens while eating leaves and
rubbish and showing a tragic scene of ruthless poverty in
the modern world and at the same time, occupying and
subjugating a nation by using world’s largest army. The
answer is not difficult to conclude.
Indian
Society is based on old Hindu social class system. This
social class system is supported by a central theme from
Hindu religion. India claims to be modern but the mindset is
not very modern. They cannot get rid of this social class
structure. This means a prime class exists in Indian society
which rules other classes throughout the history. This class
is accepted sacred and holds the elite status. Other classes
come under this class. This is most likely that rulers are
selected from this upper class. This makes the whole
election system null, void and fake. Instead of democracy
this is nothing but a worst type of dictatorship in
disguise. This type of democracy can well serve western
world, by providing a stable business market but how
effectively they can solve their internal problems or how
much this rich and elite social class might be interesting
and sincere in helping their ten of million of people to
escape from poverty is questionable. |
